Daniella’s Collision After Driver Runs a Red Light
In February 2018, Daniella was stopped at a red light in Brownsville, Texas. When her light changed to green, she entered into the intersection. Unfortunately, the at-fault driver—who had a red light—entered the intersection as well and crashed into the front bumper and driver-side door of Daniella’s car. The force of the collision was strong enough to cause the at-fault driver’s airbags to deploy and to require both vehicles to be towed away from the scene. The responding officer cited the at-fault driver for running a red light.
Daniella was taken from the scene of the collision to a nearby hospital via EMS. There, she had multiple x-rays and CT scans to check for possible internal injuries. After her discharge, Daniella continued to experience pain. As a result, she underwent several weeks of outpatient physical therapy and received multiple lower-back epidural steroid injections to help reduce her pain and get her back to where she was before the collision.
As with Victor and Alonso and countless other claims, my office worked to make sure the liability carrier understood that the at-fault driver’s decision to run a red traffic light caused Daniella to experience unnecessary pain and to incur substantial medical bills. I am happy to announce that we closed Daniella’s file earlier today.
